“People will make nook, and I will make nook a place people want to be!”
I’ve been creative my whole life, but for a long time creativity had to be fitted in around everything else, always a hobby.
When I left school I qualified as a florist, it was all I ever wanted to do, something I enjoyed without question. Then life did what life does, priorities changed and careers shifted. But creativity always has a funny way to find gaps if you aren’t giving yourself time to express yourself creatively.
So needlework and papercraft became big staples in my life along side the “priorities” and these were side line hobbies I have had for many years. (among hundreds of others of course!)
My work moved into digital creation and I began a passion for photography and this brings us up to speed without giving you all the gory details of my life.
It has taken me longer than I’d like to admit to get here, for years I have talked myself out of it waiting for the right moment. I am not sure there is a right moment, only a moment to back yourself and dive in!
So I have! And I am not sure I have ever been more certain of anything!
I have built nook because I wanted a place like this to exist. Somewhere warm and welcoming where creativity isn’t intimidating, where you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it. Where the simple act of doing something creatively can change how your day feels.
I am building it for everyone who’s ever said “I used to be creative” or “I am not a creative person” because the spark doesn’t go out and it does exist even if you think it doesn’t.
nook is somewhere I cannot wait to share with you!
This is nook has been my dream for many years (just ask my friends how much I have gone on about it!)
Too many things have stopped me from creating it in the past, mostly fear and maybe a little imposter syndrome.
But now is the time, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this unique creative concept to Inverness for you all to enjoy!
